इसरो के सभी अनुसंधान और विकास केंद्रों के साथ आईआईएसटी की सभी सहयोगी अनुसंधान गतिविधियों के लिए एक उन्नत अनुसंधान समूह (एएसआरजी) की स्थापना की गई है। एएसआरजी सुचारू समन्वयन सुनिश्चित करेगा और इसरो-आईआईएसटी की संयुक्त अनुसंधान गतिविधियों के प्रभावी कार्यान्वयन की निगरानी करेगा। एक अधिकार प्राप्त निगरानी समिति (ईओसी), जिसमें इसरो के सभी अनुसंधान केंद्रों के सदस्य शामिल हैं, एएसआरजी की शीर्षस्थ निकाय है। ईओसी, संयुक्त अनुसंधान गतिविधियों की सुचारू संचालन को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए एएसआरजी की गतिविधयों से संबंधित सभी कार्रवाइयों की समीक्षा और निर्णय करेगा। संयुक्त अनुसंधान कार्यक्रमों के प्रभावी समन्वयन के लिए इसरो केंद्रों पर आईआईएसटी लिंक यूनिट भी स्थापित की गई है। प्रत्येक केंद्र पर लिंक यूनिट का नेतृत्व ईओसी में उस केंद्र का प्रतिनिधित्व करने वाले सदस्य द्वारा किया जाता है और वह केंद्र के निदेशक द्वारा निर्धारित एक समिति द्वारा समर्थित किया जाता है। यह यूनिट आवश्यक इनपुट प्रदान करने और सुचारु समन्वयन सुनिश्चित करने के लिए आईआईएसटी के साथ सभी संयुक्त अनुसंधान कार्यक्रमों के लिए एक सिंगल विंडो एजेंसी के रूप में कार्य करती है। वर्तमान में ईओसी के अध्यक्ष डॉ. कुरुविला जोसफ़, उत्कृष्ट आचार्य, कुलसचिव एवं डीन शैक्षिकी, आईआईएसटी हैं और श्री. हरीष सी एस, प्रोफसर ऑफ़ प्रैक्टीस, आईआईएसटी एएसआरजी के अध्यक्ष हैं ।
